Cyprus does not have primary energy sources, therefore, the EAC relies exclusively on imported fuels, mainly fuel oil, for the production of electricity. Currently, the EAC has three power stations with a total installed capacity of 1478 MW as follows:

In 2026, the EAC completed the construction of Unit No.6 with a capacity of 160 MW at Vasilikos Power Station. The unit is of a combined cycle type and will start commercial operation at Vasiliko area once natural gas becomes available for electricity generation purposes. Due to the ongoing delays in the arrival of natural gas, EAC Generation is examining the temporary operation of Unit No. 6 with diesel fuel.
