The Electricity Authority of Cyprus wishes to inform the public that the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA), by its Decision No. 106/2026, has approved new Fuel Adjustment Coefficients for tariffs and for the purchase of electricity generated by Renewable Energy Sources (RES), as well as new basic prices for the purchase of electricity generated by RES.
Based on CERA Decisions No. 435/2025 and 056/2026, the Basic Fuel Price for tariffs and for the purchase of energy from RES has been revised from €300 to €600 per metric tonne.
It is noted that the Fuel Adjustment Coefficients, according to which EAC tariffs and the purchase price of electricity generated by RES increase or decrease, are in force in order to adjust each unit of electricity that is invoiced or purchased, for every 1 cent increase or decrease to the basic fuel price of €600 per metric tonne, the cost of which EAC will determine for the month/two months based on the current market price of fuel.
The new Fuel Adjustment Coefficients for tariffs and for the purchase of electricity generated by RES, and the basic prices for the purchase of electricity generated by RES, will be applied:
· For consumers/producers with monthly bills, on their electricity bills reflecting the meter reading of the end of April 2026 and
· For consumers/producers with bills every two months, on their electricity bills reflecting the meter reading of 1st May 2026 and afterwards.
