The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) wishes to inform the public that underground cables are being installed between the EAC’s 132kV Polemidia substation and the 132kV Zakaki substation in the framework of the major project to supply electricity to the City of Dreams Mediterranean integrated resort.
Work will be carried out in sections, in accordance with the timetable approved by the Public Works Department and the Police, and includes:
· Excavation and other related works for the laying of High Voltage underground cables in Ilia Kannaourou Street (Ypsonas area) from the junction with Ioanni Psychari Street to the junction with Hymittou Street, a length of 800m.
· Excavation and other related works for the laying of High Voltage underground cables on a 400m section of Genisseos Sotiros Christou Street, from the junction with Franklin Roosevelt Avenue (Kyrenia restaurant) towards Asomatos.
Work on the project will start on Monday 21/03/2022 and are due to be completed by the end of May.
This essential excavation work will affect access to property and the smooth flow of traffic. For this reason, in conjunction with all the involved services and local authorities, EAC will make every effort to minimize any inconvenience and enable the best possible traffic flow. The Electricity Authority’s main concern is to safely complete the project as quickly as possible and with the least impact on the public.
