Based on the Tariff’s methodology, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) is required to submit annually New Tariffs to the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) for approval.
According to CERA Decision No. 105/2026, new tariff prices have been approved for the year 2026. The new prices were calculated using a Basic Fuel Price of €600 per Metric Tonne, in accordance with CERA Decision No. 435/2025.
The new Tariff Schemes for 2026 were approved by CERA Decision No. 129/2026.
The new Tariffs will be applied on electricity bills as follows:
For customers with monthly bills, on their electricity bills reflecting the meter reading of the end of April 2026.
For customers with bimonthly bills, on their electricity bills reflecting the meter reading of May 1st, 2026 and afterwards.
It should be noted that CERA Decision No. 105/2026 also approved a change to the interruption hours for the Water Pumping Tariff (Code 46). The current 4-hour daily interruption during peak periods (June–September) on weekdays, specifically from 11:30 to 15:30, will shift to 18:30–22:30 for the same period.
Additionally, it is highlighted that the approved charging rate for the Storage of Thermal Energy Tariff (Code 56) has been changed and now is approximately at the same level as the primary tariff of the premises. Consequently, customers who wish to have a continuous supply for their storage heaters may choose to switch from Tariff Code 56 to their premises’ standard tariff. In this case, customers must submit an application for a tariff change at the EAC Distribution System Operator’s Network User Service Centres.
