Distribution Rules

The Distribution System Rules include the relevant regulations for all technical aspects related to the connection and operation of the Distribution System, which are prepared by the Distribution System Operator (DSO) and published according to the provisions of Article 89 of the Electricity Market Regulation Laws of 2021 – 2025.

The Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) under the decision No. 465/2025, dated December 23, 2025, approved and put into force Version 1.2.0 of the Distribution System Rules. The approved version of the Distribution System Rules is available at the link below:

Distribution System Rules – Version 1.2.0

Transmission Rules

The Transmission Rules include the relevant regulations for all technical aspects related to the connection and operation of the transmission system, which are prepared by the Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSO) and published in accordance with the provisions of article 85 of the Electricity Market Regulation Laws of 2021 – 2023.

CERA, by decision No. 348/2024 dated 29 October 2024, approved and brought into force Version 1.1.0 of the Transmission Rules. The approved version of the Transmission Rules is posted on the official website of the TSO.

Transmission and Distribution Rules

Based on CERA Decision No. 304/2023, dated 08 September 2023, all approved and in force versions of the existing Transmission and Distribution Rules are repealed. An archive of older versions of the Transmission and Distribution Rules is available on the official website of the TSO (https://tsoc.org.cy/electrical-system/transmission-and-distribution-rules/archive/).

Electricity Market Rules and Transitional Market Arrangements

The relevant legislation / regulations / directives governing the Competitive Electricity Market and its Transitional Regulation are posted on the official website of the TSO.
