It is presented in the Hosting Capacity Map that has been created by both Distribution System Operator (DSO) and Transmission System Operator of Cyprus (TSOC) as part of the Cyprus Transmission and Distribution System Redesign Study for 2021-2030, prepared as per the Cyprus Regulatory Authority Decision 02\/2019. It aims to provide useful information to whom it may concern with regards to the\u00a0RES-E integration capability of the Cyprus Power System.<\/p>\n<p>Hosting Capacity Map is essentially a tool that geographically illustrates the RES-E Hosting Capacity per Transmission Substation. Also, the RES-E Available Hosting Capacity is presented, i.e. the remaining available RES-E integration capability, which results by subtracting the already installed \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0RES-E systems from the overall Hosting Capacity. It should be noted that systems that have already signed the preliminary connection terms are considered as installed.<\/p>\n<p>Caution should be raised in that all information presented in the Hosting Capacity Map are indicative and non-binding for connection approval by the DSO or the TSOC, as each connection request is assessed individually and several other factors are taken into consideration. In particular, Hosting Capacity in this framework is evaluated based only on technical criteria, therefore other factors e.g. land availability are not taken into consideration. The detected problems are classified into one of the following three categories based on how they affect the safety and reliability of the Distribution Network:<\/p>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\"><span>i) Category 1: Problems that pose an immediate risk to the security and reliability of the Distribution Network and shall be treated immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">ii) Category 2: Problems that impact the real-time operational management of the Distribution Network and can endanger the reliability of the Power System.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">iii) Category 3: Less significant technical problems and\/or discrepancies that adversely affect the real-time operational management of the Distribution Network.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">After classifying the detected technical problems, the DSO issues escalating notifications to the Network User. According to the Transmission-Distribution Rules, the Network User is obliged to take immediate actions to rectify the detected problem and then inform the DSO for verification purposes.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">If the detected technical problem and\/or deviations are corrected, the DSO informs the Network User accordingly. Otherwise, and after the completion of the escalating notifications, the DSO is obliged to disconnect the RES-E Generation Unit or the MV Private Network from the Distribution Grid for security and reliability purposes.
