So far, it is the largest PV Park in Cyprus and is yet another activity of the EAC in the field of Renewable Energy Sources.<\/p>\n<p>The project was implemented within the framework of the tender announced by the Special Fund for RES &amp; ESS in 2012 for the sale of energy from PV parks with a total capacity of 50MW. The Park consists of 12,000 solar panels and covers an area of \u200b\u200b4.6 hectares. It is expected to produce 5,000 MWh per year while the savings in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions will be approximately 3,600 tons per design of the Park was done with the aim of having as few environmental impacts as possible. The foundation system was carried out with piles directly in the ground instead of a concrete foundation, significantly reducing the earthworks.<\/p>\n<p>The construction works began in January 2014 after the project was licensed and were completed at the end of April 2014. The project contractor was AKTOR SA\/Photovoltaic Sector, with a total experience of over 400 MW.<\/p>\n<p>The selling price of electricity is 8.6 cents\/kwh.
