The decommissioning of these obsolete and energy-intensive Steam Units paves the way for EAC&#8217;s strategic shift toward Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and large-scale Battery Energy Storage 2011, due to the explosion at the naval base in Mari, the Vassilikos power station, adjacent to the naval base, suffered extensive damage, resulting in the complete suspension of its activities. The station has been restored and is now fully operational.<\/p>\n<p>The Vassilikos power station produces approximately 65% \u200b\u200bof the total electricity generated by the Authority&#8217;s Power Stations.<\/p>\n<p>The thermal efficiency of the three conventional units for production units is 38% while for the MASK it is approximately 48%. \u200b\u200bDirective 2012\/18\/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2012 on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances and amending and subsequently repealing Council Directive 96\/82\/EC requires the operator (EAC- Vassilikos Power Station) to prepare a relevant Safety Report. Vassilikos Power Station has prepared a Safety Report in accordance with the above European Directives in 2008-2009, which report was fully revised in 2019.
